Trump publicly supported Hegseth earlier today. I'm not sure Trump is introspective enough at this point to admit he's done anything wrong. He went out today and talked about the ballroom, and re-affirmed his choice to go to war with Iran. Firing someone might be a little too close to admitting he screwed up.
