Oh for fuq sake the New World got the absolute shyt stick from evolution.
Heard about javelinas during the Nancy Guthrie thing: little pigs that run around at night in the desert SW.
gross disgusting creatures NOT IN ANY WAY RELATED TO PIGS. So again with no pork or bacon or ham. Completely inedible mostly because of an extremely nasty musk pouch, which these animals use to smear their anal musk all over each other for bonding.
It’s illegal to kill the beasts stinking up your property because they are “natives”.

Maybe they could be small and cute, cat sized mini pretend piggies? Or groundhogs? Nope.
The nasty worthless beasts are like large dogs & travel in packs. Big stinky inedible packs. Ruining whatever pathetic cactus you could possibly grow.

A). There is a hunting season for javelinas and they’re smart nasty little bastards so they’re challenging prey.
B). The meat is fine if you dress the kill immediately and remove the scent glands intact.

You just have to know how to clean them. They're real good eating. As a native species, they have a season and bag limits.
At least they don't destroy the land like feral hogs. (Also good eating)

In the US javelinas only live in these 3 states in the Southwest - Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
If you don't like javelinas avoid those 3 states or move.

Indians were crude and left plenty of carcasses to rot after running the herd off the cliff. Good thing their population was small & there were plenty of bison to waste. The “Noble Savage” was a myth, they didn’t practice conservation by killing one bison at a time then using every part carefully, they had no pact with the earth it was just me=hungry or me=cold.
And no grandmaw Indian did not take a bison bone and boil with spices for hours making savory broth. They were Stone Age & didn’t have a pot to piss in, forget making stock.

Horses got fuqed first. Scientists have concluded that the horse was native to the Americas & spread across the Bering Sea Land Bridge, providing the original horses into Asia and Europe via the land bridge. Asia and Europe tamed & employed horses. Native Americans killed their horses to extinction, running them off cliffs, eating part of one, letting the corpses rot. Never attempted to tame them.
