It's been a while, but I started skiing when I was a kid. Sucks to live in the flat lands, and ski the local hills except for one week a year.

Very much so, starting as a kid. Winter weekends and holiday trips to TAHOE, Heavenly Valley, here we come! Saturday bus based adventure trips.
Then, owning a TAHOE place. What's a snowboard?
Then, when the kids were quite young, skiing and trying a turn in Sierra Cement landed me in the hospital and that was that.

I used to go every second Friday in winter.
Drive up, ski like mad, drive home.
All for $50 including gas, entry, lift ticket and a basic lunch.

Bartlett has an actual ski hill. I doubt anyone here knows that. Is that where you went? We went to Wisconsin somewhere a few times and twice in Colorado. We went to Vail once.
Villa Olivia. Most depressing little ski hill I have ever seen.
