Slavery definitely was.   From the git go, it was a British Scam.    There were  PLENTY of IRISH that were coming over, and millions kept away by the BRITISH.    They made BIG money by selling slaves, then scammed the growers by importing their crops (cotton, tobacco, etc) back to England, THEN determining what the price would be, and paying in British manufactured goods (dishware, tools, glass, furniture) not money.   

It was as corrupt as the California government is today.   No wonder we got rid of them, and why the King fought so hard to keep the system going.

The worst idea ever was universal suffrage. We need a licensing test before allowing people to vote.

Not repatriating the slaves to Africa.  Serious bonus points if we would have armed the fuq out of them when they landed back in Africa.  That would have certainly changed the trajectory of that continent.
