anon user #3Take the Daunte Wright case:
https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/30/us/kim-p … index.html
A perfect punishment might be to stand the officer up and tie her to a utility pole. Then Daunte Wright's family member gets to choose between two (or maybe three?) guns. One is filled with blanks the other hollow points. No one knows which is which.
His family member is then permitted to fire one shot from a distance of ten yards.
Possible outcomes:
1. The gun is filled with blanks and the officer is fine.
2. The gun is filled with live rounds and it is a fatal shot and the officer dies, in a varying amount of pain and suffering.
3. The gun has live rounds but the family member misses so the officer gets out unscathed.
4. The gun has live rounds and the bullet hits but is not a fatal shot.
Either way justice is done. At minimum the officer has to fear for their death or maiming (and will probably be psychologically affected). And the family member has a shot at dispensing justice. At most the officer dies at the hands of the family member.
To me this seems so much better than either letting the officer off completely or giving her 30 years.

How about for an suv that runs over an xmas parade full of kids and grandmothers?

You should read your constitution. Particularly the 8th amendment.

The constitution is a bagger blog. Except the part about guaranteed abortion.

The Constitution wasn't written by God. It can be changed, you know. And at some point it will need to be either changed or disregarded. Imagine going strictly by some document written 4,000 years ago.
That said I do appreciate the Constitution and don't think changing it should be done lightly.

We are a nation of law, not a nation of men and certainly not a nation of animals.
What this means is that all people are treated fairly under the law, they are not subject to the whims of King Joffrey or whatever sick fantasy you have in your fuqed up little head.

They left us the means and methods to change it, and we have done it several times.

It is far worse. The suv murders were intentional.

Most likely. Hoodrats can't shoot for shyt.

Shytbag murderers from ANY frame of reference should have a stake pounded their their heart at the end of the day. Just to make sure.
........................................................................
anon user #3It's actually a pretty good idea still. The officer has a chance of life or death. The victim's family member has a shot at possibly dispensing the ultimate in justice - skill is involved but also some luck too.
