Where did it all go wrong?

We could argue about when the Republican Party became such an anti-democratic movement, Nixon 1968, Watergate, Reagan 1980, but it really began in 1992, when a segment of the wealth GOP decided no democratically elected president could be legitimate. Newt Gingrich and Ken Starr worked so hard to de-legitimize Bill Clinton in any way they could.

However, the partisan "States Rights" Supreme Court shutting down the Florida recount in 2000 to help W Bush win was the real turning point. Ever since the court not only rules against anything on the left; they litetally made up "immunity" to protect a lawless, corrupt dangerous, wannabe dictator in Trump.

I'm 61 years old. One of my greatest wishes is that I will live to see either the Supreme Court expanded or at least 2 of the Supreme Court Justices impeached and removed.

I'm not holding my breathe.

The obscene enormity of the crimes committed by these psychopaths demonstrates the comparable enormity of the expedient errors in judgement committed by those who should have held previous criminals accountable for their crimes. Their failure to do so simply enabled subsequent tyrants to push the limits even further, until we found ourselves having to deal with a psychopath like Trump and the treacherous snakes that surround him. It has to stop here, and it has to stop now. NO waffling allowed.

When this country was conned into thinking Trump, with his loud, lying, narcissistic, game show mouth was a better candidate to run the country into the ground. And then they did it again. It's quite sickening to experience now.

Loading up the Supreme court with ass kissing people helped the situation. These people are suppose to be there to support the laws and the constitution. Yeah, well, so much for that, eh? And just yesterday, this group of corrupt idiots allowed the orange con man to implement his voter suppression. It don't get much more corrupt than that.

I'm so sick of our current situation, I could just puke.

however, expanding the SCOTUS is not enough. We need to take away SCOTUS's unconstitutional power grabbing in 2000 and now 2026 that destroyed the elections clause which gives the states the authority to run the elections. An independent an non-partisan elections commission should be set up to decide all issues concerning elections. No more Bush vs Gore trampling of the will of the people in 2000 or letting dictator Rump decide who gets to vote in 2028.

Almost 300,000 people from "loyal German" families were brought into the US to rebuild the GOP. I had a teacher who had gotten to be a Senate Page in Spring 1953 right off the boat. His father "wasn't a Nazi" but he was the Admiral of the Flagship of Hitler's Navy. The GOP were never nice but that brought a basically evil criminal element into their party. Drug running, political assassinations, MK Ultra, bio warfare experiments on Americans, fraud and drug running all expanded from this grievous mistake.
