The reason why “it depends” applies to sex with a teenager is about disproportionate power, the actual ability of the teenager to understand their choices, the reason why a teenager might make such choices, and the advantage someone older may have over a teenager that can allow them to manipulate and harm the teenager.

It is not normal for a 60yo man to be sexually attracted to a teenage girl. It just isn’t. To a normal 60yo male, a teenager looks like a child. For a normal 60yo male, there isn’t a delineation between 10yo and 16yo. Both are totally non-sexual beings because both are children. And a normal 60yo man does not want to have sex with children.

Your “raw heterosexual desire” does not make the desire to fuq children normal. And, in almost every case I can contemplate, it doesn’t make it okay even if the law says a 16yo can “consent.”

You should consider therapy. It might open your eyes to any abnormal thought patterns you may have developed.

Let's backtrack a little. Where I live, in the heart of Western European fagtopia, it is perfectly legal for a person of any age to screw another consenting person if that person has reached the age of 16.

Is that wrong?

If you can answer that one with a simple yes/no perhaps you could develop on the much bigger question of why a 'power imbalance' makes a sexual encounter 'wrong', why so many people seem to thrive on such imbalances to the point that if you want to sell a book to women, include a particularly egregious one; then, how an age difference automatically equals a power imbalance in favour of the older person, and how we could possibly legislate to prevent this.

How do we solve this legislatively? The model is already in place. You have a sliding age range law. As the younger person gets older the window of the older partner gets wider: someone 10-12yo can consent to someone 1 year older, a 13-15yo can consent to someone 2 years older, a 15-16yo can consent to someone 3 years older, a 17-18yo can consent to someone 4 years older, an 18-21yo can consent to some 6 years older, a 21-24yo can consent to someone 8 years older, and 25+ can consent to anyone. You don't have to use my exact numebrs but that is the model.

I've always been in favour of a sliding scale but with a higher lower limit and a much lower upper limit.

10 year old kids shouldn't be having sex with legal sanction under any circumstances.

Nobody, in my opinion and in the eyes of the law in the place I live, should be telling a 20 year old they can't fuq a consenting 27 year old. Or an 18 year old a 23 year old. Or a 16 year old, in fact, anybody they choose of their age or above.

An age difference doesn't automatically mean a power imbalance, and I'm still waiting for an explanation how a power imbalance in a sexual relationship could possibly be legally defined or enforced, or why.
