If you mean the passport then Irish is just plain better - because the UK and the Irish Republic are in a common travel area you get exactly the same residence rights in the UK that a UK passport holder does, but you also have full residence rights in the EU and EEA countries too.

There are some different rules concerning the channel islands, but they are very much edge cases.
