Highly RelationalDid you like the NiceTaco BBS software? Do you want to use it? Let me know. It is called 'SBBS' or SpankyBBS. You'll need SQL 2000 (MSDE *might* work, hasn't been tested), ASP.NET 1.1, and write access to some portion of the file system your site is hosted upon. Also, please note that there is no "configuration console" for SBBS. Almost all configuration is done directly in the DB or by modifying web.config. For configuration in the DB I mostly used Enterprise Manager or Query Analyzer. The DB is highly relational and very close to being 3NF so doing even simple configuration things (say, adding an emoticon) is not all that easy or intuitive if you aren't familiar with messing around in SQL tables. Some of the tables in the DB schema were added to support functionality that was never implemented in code so certain things are more complex than they would need to otherwise be had those tables not been added. I am giving you all these warnings because this software was written well, but it was written to be used by me and I am technical so not having a config console wasn't a big deal.
If you want to use SBBS, then I suggest you view the SQL 2000 DDL and paste it in QA. This will give you all the SQL scripts need to create the entire DB that supports SBBS including all the SPROCs. If you are still interested, contact me and we can talk about getting the ASP.NET pages and DLL library to you.
