Since I started working, it was 1960, I went to my social security account and in my working life I paid nearly $300,000 in social security taxes.

Might not sound like enough to some idiots but for example in 1989 I paid $5,817.60 in social security taxes.  Due to inflation how much was that in 2026 dollars?

I wonder what I would have today if instead of paying social security taxes I had invested the money into a mutual fund earning 6% annually? I calculated it and would have over $1 million dollars.

My monthly soocial security deposit, which includes the Medicare Part B that I never see, is right at $3,900.00.  Not rich but good enough.

Social security isn't for retirees like me it is for people like OP who has an accident and can no longer work.  He takes money from the system having paid in very little.
