Out in the French countryside things got very rural very fast, with the occasional Marquis (nobleman, distant relation to royalty but the country hick version who was benevolent) living in a village in a nice mantion on a huge farm, but pretty much beloved by the townspeople because as he would make sure to serve the community by having the ever-present wolves controlled, helping out in hard times, throwing festivals for the townsfolk, and genuinely being the nice family rich guy in town.
