After 32 years of spending that money... they're here anyways. 

The United States and Panama jointly operate a facility in Pacora, Panama, that produces approximately 100 million sterile New World screwworm flies per week. These flies are sterilized and aerially dropped over the Darién Gap to act as a biological barrier, preventing this deadly, flesh-eating parasite from migrating north.
