Phillip_McCavityWas looking for Herb Todt (d. 1966), but Sanford is in the same cemetery so why not?
Never did find Herb's grave, going to go back and hunt more. I found the area, which findagrave calls
the meditation garden, and the nice cemetery lady answered my questions. She would have given me
more information, but I like walking through cemeteries.

No, a research project I have been working on. Todt was an important businessman in Sausalito in the 1930s.

It's too late to offer her your credit card, Phil.

Phillip_McCavityI had thought Sally's real name was Marsha Owen. And I had thoguht she won her election in 1962.
I was simply wrong on both counts.
I got the Marsha Owen name from the SF Chronicle, turns out she was born Mabel Busby. She adopted chilren whose last names were Owen, she didn't change
their names. She did call herself Marsha which is a regular shift from Mabel. But it seems that if she went by this name it was a minor thing.
As for the elections, according to her obit she ran four times and didn't win until 1976. This is actually important for my research project. Anyway, she didn't become
mayor until one election thereafter -- I should have known this, in Sausalito mayors are chosen from elected city council members.

Operation Todt was very effective. Some say that if Fritz Todt hadn't been killed that there would have been a higher chance of the Nazis prevailing or, at least, surviving.
