I thought we eliminated their leaders

The world doesn't need Iranian oil. Sure it's a component in the current supply chain, but the market will increase production elsewhere to compensate. If we blast their oil infrastructure that process begins sooner and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it might not be financially viable to rebuild it when it's no longer needed. Iran could get themselves in a quasi perma-fuqed spot.
