35 Values from the 1950s We Should Bring Back - Spanky, take note

14. Taking Pride in Your Home

Why would you "take pride" in an inanimate object that you own? Do you also "take pride" in your toilet?

In any case, comply with all ordinances and HOA rules. Beyond that you may wish to go above that in order to maintain your investment.

What's the deal with baggers and "pride?" Pride is actually something that goes against the teachings of the Bible, right? Isn't it one of the supposed "deadly sins."

13. Patriotism Without Constant Cynicism

You can be patriotic without being jingoistic. If your country is doing shytty things around the world, and at home, then you absolutely should be cynical.

12. Respecting Rules in Public Spaces

This is just bullshyt “the good old days” thinking. Litter, for example, was a much more serious problem in the past than now.

11. Speaking Politely in Public

Who defines "polite?" Baggers?

Does Trump behave politely? What about other bagger heroes?

10. Face-to-Face Conversation

Isn't this just a variant of "19. Hospitality"?

8. Respect for Shared Spaces

Okay. How is this different than "12. Respecting Rules in Public Spaces"?

7. Finishing What You Started

Why? If you lose interest in something, why waste more time pursuing it? If something is no longer going to deliver value, why continue to invest in it?

6. Loyalty

In many ways this is not required anymore in a modern society. Its value has been reduced by both the left and the right. The left reduced it by allowing people to act independently of their families and communities by providing social safety nets and implementing things like fair credit reporting. The right has reduced it by turning our economy into almost pure capitalism with nearly everything defined in transactional terms.

Taking pride could mean just keeping it clean. maintained, mowed, etc.

I noticed there aren't a bunch of cars on blocks on your lawn, in addition to some of your projects.

She can label it anything she wants.  It's just a label from a morally bankrupt politician.

They pretty much all are.  Trump is probably less so because he was rich before he got elected.

You aren't a serious person if you think they are all about equally morally bankrupt and, maybe, Trump isn't quite as bad.

It says a whole lot about you.

That was a dumb statement.

Why are so many politicians so filthy rich after years of making a not so high salary?

It's like asking why someone isn't rich before they become CEO.

Senior level people become rich.

How the hell did Nancy Pelosi earn $450 million?

Stop making excuses for crooked politicians.

I am not making excuses.

Nancy Pelosi has a very wealthy husband who made a lot of money.

That said, I am pretty confident she has made money from insider trading but probably didn't do anything illegal.

What we should do is pass a law that prevents office holders from trading securities while in office.

What Pelosi has done is 1/10th of 1% as bad as the stuff Trump has done.

Do you see the difference between you and me?

I keep acknowledging the bad things that Dems do, don't justify it, and put it in context. You never, ever hold Trump accountable for doing things 1000x worse.

Why?
