I only update once a month or every other month these days. Everything just works. To update "pacman -Syu", work in another window and let it run, 15 minutes later optionally reboot. Done.
Pacman? Arch updates suck moose cock.

You are as bad as AU.
You want to be able to customize just for the sake of customization not because you actually need these features.

So you see there is something that I think you are missing. While you may not need a particular feature right now, maybe other people do need it. And maybe two, three, ten years from now you might need it too. It's nice to have the option.

It works for me.
Which distro do you prefer for desktop use?

anon user #8647So he finally showed up at about 3:30pm. I met him at the curb, he appreciated not having to bring it further (52 pounds). ![]()

No "power user" can get any "power" work done on a phone.
If you think are doing power work on a phone then you aren't a power user.
Maybe go edit a PowerPoint or something.
real men write code exclusively on a phone at coffee shops.

As for the only makes noise use case, my phone does that.
You are too much! First you say you can't be a power user on your phone, now you are saying "why would you want to do that?"
Your phone can only make a noise when a particular app sends a specific notification and otherwise remain silent? I don't think so! In the walled garden you can't do that!
Android has a wonderful app called Prof Reminder which is just astounding.
My phone only plays a sound if my security camera app sends a notification that contains the word "Person" in it.

As for why I would want file system access, well if you are really asking that, you are not serious.

Well, you might be starving one day on an island without any food, but have your phone.
I guess your phone should be able to fly away, get you some food, bring it back, cook it, and serve it to you as well.

Samples_BoiIt's silly to expect Spanky to grasp any of this or at least allow himself to admit that he might be short sighted.
After all, this is a guy who uses a browser with no Adblock and subjects himself to all that shyt on a day to day basis. He is not interested in taking control of his experience in the slightest!!!
And his response to any issue I raise is first "ES" and then "Why would you want to do that??".
It would be sad, but actually its so preposterous it's quite funny.

Yes, doablle.
Having access to the file system does not make you are power user since you can't make use of it very easily on a tiny screen.
I AM DOING HEX EDITING ON MY PHONE!!

I have all my packages sent UPS set to automatically go to a UPS store for pickup. This one is 52 pounds so apparently they refused to do that and sent it to my home instead. Delivery was going to be Sunday. Then they moved it to Friday. I wake up today and now it is "Today, May 07 by 9:00 P.M." and with a signature required.
Sounds like you live in a shytty neighborhood.
People with jobs have them delivered at work.

Or Fedex. In my area Fedex caught the colored virus and drivers are extremely lazy and rude.

anon user #8647This all reminded me of when I had to do the shyt in a cup thing. I think it was cologuard. When they sent me the unit they sent it by UPS and the email they sent claimed a signature was required. Angrily I called up customer service and told them there was no way I was going to miss a day of work just to wait for a cup to shyt in and to just cancel it if that were the case.
They said it was a mistake and in fact no sig was required. This was before I started redirecting my UPS packages tot he UPS store.
