Every Indian restaurant that I've been to has been mediocre. Admittedly, it's been a small sample size (4) AND I live in a flyover state.

Those I do like too.
First, tandori chicken
Salad
Naan
Those fried things next.
Then, big serving butter chicken on rice.
Whatever desert they have, usually the pudding.
Very nice meal and often the price is less than ordering it à la carte. The main thing is that "service" is fast since it is already done.

I have never had decent Indian food in the Americas.
Even in England, where we've got a fuqing ridiculous number of jeets and Indian food is mainstream, maybe 1 Indian place in 50 is decent. (And the bulk of them, including of 'Nepalese' places are actually Bangladeshi.)

Yeah, its my experience that Nepalese places aren't all that authentic.
I ate at a few places in Boston that really were Nepalese. They were excellent.
