Outgoing Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson has been indicted on 30 felony counts.
According to the Louisiana Attorney General’s office, the charges include the following:
Counts 1 through 14: Malfeasance in office
Counts 15 through18: Conspiracy to commit malfeasance in office,
Counts 19 through 21: Filing or maintaining false public records,
Counts 22 through 24: Conspiracy to commit filing or maintaining public records,
Counts 25 through 27: Obstruction of justice
Counts 28 through 30: Conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice.
The judge set a total bond for Hutson at $300,000.

Bianka Brown, the Chief Financial Officer of the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office was indicted on 20 felony counts:
Counts 31 through 34: Malfeasance in office
Counts 35 through 38: Conspiracy to commit malfeasance in office
Counts 39 through 41: Filing or maintaining false public records
Counts 42-44: Conspiracy to commit filing or maintaining false public records
Counts 45 through 47: Obstruction of justice
Counts 48 through 50: Conspiracy to obstruction of justice.
The judge set a total bond for Brown at $200,000.
They were both arrested and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.

A Louisiana sheriff is facing a slew of charges stemming from the infamous New Orleans jailbreak that resulted in one of the largest inmate escapes in U.S. history.
"While Sheriff Hutson did not personally open the doors of the jail for the escapees,
her refusal to comply with basic legal requirements and to take even minimal precautions in the discharge of her duties directly contributed to and enabled the escape," Murrill said.
The charges come just days before Hutson was set to leave office after only receiving 17% of the vote in her re-election bid in October
