The real question is why does it matter? Satoshi holds ~1M BTC worth ~70+ billion right now. If they identify him and he sells even 10% it would crash the market. The NYT naming him is either a nothing burger or the biggest market-moving story of the year. No in between. Also 'Yakamoto' lol.
