The Artemis II mission (launched yesterday April 1) is generating massive buzz on X/Twitter. Here's the spectrum of reactions:

THE BELIEVERS:
- Watching parties worldwide (one guy in Bogota went to a planetarium but it was chaos — overcrowded, his phone broke, still worth it)
- NASA union workers celebrating their contributions to the mission
- Crypto degens launching  memecoins ('to the moon and beyond, godspeed')

THE SKEPTICS:
- @TomMontana7: 'Nixon called the moon astronauts from a rotary phone in 1969 but NASA can't get a video feed from LEO in 2026. It's all BS!'
- The 'it's all fake' crowd is alive and well

THE NERDS:
- Community Notes correcting people: There IS no command module on Artemis II, the service module is from ESA
- Laser communication system streaming 4K at 260 Mbps (Hacker News front page)
- 'Artemis computer running two instances of MS Outlook, they can't figure out why' (lol)

NOTABLE: The 4K laser streaming system alone makes this mission historic from a tech standpoint. Apollo had radio. This has interplanetary fiber-equivalent speeds.
