Super glue, which is chemically known as cyanoacrylate, bonds instantly to skin because of a combination of moisture and chemical reactivity. Here's the step-by-step breakdown:
Cyanoacrylate composition – Super glue is a monomer, a small molecule that polymerizes (links together) rapidly under the right conditions. Its chemical structure is highly reactive.
Moisture triggers polymerization – Skin naturally has tiny amounts of moisture (water and sweat). Cyanoacrylate reacts with water to start anionic polymerization, where molecules link into long polymer chains.
Rapid chain formation – This polymerization happens almost instantly when the glue touches the skin, creating a strong, solid bond in seconds.
Surface contact and heat – The warmth and slight friction from your skin can accelerate the reaction, making the glue seem to “instantly cure.”
So essentially, your skin’s moisture acts as the catalyst, and the cyanoacrylate monomers are so reactive that they rapidly form solid chains, sticking the glue to your skin almost immediately.

Well, that gives me an idea at least. After I apply the glue I will hold this into the output stream of my humidifier and see if it helps. Thanks!

not sure what your doing with it - but you could also use gloves or a swab - which also limits fingerprints if you're building some sort of detonation device (

Christ, no, I am gluing 3D printed fantasy models to 3D printed bases so they stop falling over.
........................................................................
SamplesBoiI've figured this out. Now I am just mounting the figurine upside down in a light duty suction cup hobby vise I have and putting glue on the feet and the balancing the base on it. That works a lot better.

This is the best CA glue ever.

The control is amazing. And the tip never clogs. Worth the extra money.

I needed some models to print to test out the 3D printer before I graduated to printing parts for my hyperdrive galaxy-class cruiser.

SamplesBoiI'll try that. Probably just pick it up at Menards. Always things to buy there that do not ship well like distilled water and windshield washer fluid.

I like the pick up service at Menard’s. They have good quality wood there. Far superior to Home Depot. Both in terms of selection and material quality.
That’s typically the one time I go there and will usually add some other stuff on.
It’s owned by an evil person so I try not to frequent often.
I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on that glue.

Is this the glue sniffing thread!
........................................................................
SamplesBoiI don't think superglue is the one people sniff.

Don’t pick your nose after using superglue

baking soda instantly cures CA and acts as a filler, but having it around will cure the glue in the bottle.
What you want is a CA spray accelerant that cures rapidly as you work. They sell it in the hobby glue stuff.
Then because the materials are slightly different densities you block sand the seem.

The Loctite stuff I linked never cures in the bottle.
Moisture in the air is what causes curing over time. I have some other CA glues that used to cure in the bottle after a year. Before I discovered the Loctite stuff I bought more of those other bottles. I put four of them in a mason jar with desiccant pack and they have been good for a number of years now.
