Not a human disease, but I recently solved my house’s ladybeetle invasion problem (been going on all winter) in one day with dirt cheap & natural diatomaceous earth. Those fuqers are 100% gone. Didn’t want to use anything toxic because pets.

HeekeeI was just thinking of this, I have a few go to natural supplements i like for things but if a remedy really works it would be grabbed up by big pharma and made illegal to distribute by normies. Even THC as a medicine really only works for some people some of the time

Largely a hoax. Some very limited evidence that it MIGHT help with inflammation.
How many thousands have you spent on supplements?
Also a lot of Tumeric is sourced from absolute shythole countries where it is tainted with lead

Physicians are not that smart when it comes to science.
The evidence is clear: there isn't much evidence that turmeric helps with inflammation. There is some. But it is limited. There probably is no harm in it (in moderation), but there are now known, certain, significant benefits.
I dunno. Turmeric works for me.

Actually, there are a few "natural" treaments for significant ailments. Oranges for scurvy, for instance.
Vaccines are natural. They work by tricking your body into thinking it is sick.
Well, vaccines didn’t really exist before the last 100 years. I know there was inoculation but that is a far cry from a vaccine.
As for oranges, I suppose it depends how you look at it. To look at it your way then you’d have to say food is a cure for starvation.
My perspective is normal state. It is not normal to starve. So food isn’t a cure so much as lack of food causes a disease.
But fair enough point if you look at it from your perspective.

Many of the chemotherapy drugs for cancer came from homeopathic sources.
This is not the same thing as a natural treatment though. You can eat tree bark but it won’t cure your cancer. That tree bark has to be turned into a pharmaceutical to be effective as a treatment.
I certainly did not intend to say that natural ingredients aren’t components of pharmaceuticals. That would clearly be false.

Tribes in the Amazon use as medicine a plant-based potion called Curare which has narcotic paralyzing effects
The west has refined the process and created an anesthetic called Curatin
See above.

SamplesBoiYou are only talking about chemo and radio therapies.
You forget the ancient treatment of surgery (and bonesetting, dentistry, and other surgery like techniques), which, though it has definitely improved in the last 100 years, is quite older than that.

Quinine has been used effectively for centuries.
Okay. That’s a good legitimate one. Still not as effective as modern anti-malarials.

I definitely wasn’t thinking of physical things like that. You are right.
Still I think it is a stretch. Before the last 100 years, a broken leg could be fatal. Any form of “surgery” where they opened you was probably 80% fatal. Maybe amputation was a good example. Cauterizing was pretty effective.

“The American Academy of Dermatology's official recommendation for wart removal at home is unironically "cover them with duct tape for like 2 months"
Nobody really knows why this works. Current theory is
- Duct tape keeps the area moist and allows blood to flow through the otherwise hard outer shell of the wart so your immune system can deal with the virus
There are cases where putting duct tape over a foot-wart apparently leads to warts elsewhere on their body decreasing in size too, which implies some sort of systemic immune response getting kickstarted
One of the rare cases where I actually have no idea which group would've discovered this solution”

Is duct tape natural?

Did it come from a pharmaceutical company in the last 100 years?
