Pew: 83% of Americans support voter ID

It's just common sense.  Democraps oppose it because they want foreigners voting in our elections

A Pew Research Center poll in August tested a variety of election rules and found that 83% of U.S. adults support “requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification to vote,” while 16% oppose it. That’s up from 77% support in a 2012 Pew poll.

Support for the SAVE Act, especially when it's explained what is actually in the bill, is less than 50%.

Why doesn’t the govt start handing out coupons for free birth certificate copies? They cost maybe $6 and are printed out immediately.
Maybe email PDFs will be fine and those are free

Re: Pew: 83% of Americans support voter ID

As far as married women: if Martha Washington shows up to vote with her drivers license and her birth certificate says Martha Wilson, just waive her on through.
At this point first names matching is close enough and 1169% better than the free for all we have now.

If Martha shows up to vote with jack shyt because she’s barely getting by and has no documents whatsoever cuz her life has been crazy lately, she’s going to be allowed to vote anyway. They just give her a provisional ballot that she fills out voluntarily and signs (affidavit) stating she is who she is, no proof needed. Vote still counts.

Only if an election is freakishly close will they have to dig out the provisional ballots & verify the info.

Re: Pew: 83% of Americans support voter ID

Illegals are not going to sign a provisional ballot full of lies about their name & citizenship, risking lying on a federal form.
Before they were not asked to sign anything if they didn’t have Id

Re: Pew: 83% of Americans support voter ID

Everyone knoas the libs arguments about citizens getting disenfranchised is 169% lib hysteria theater they don’t believe.

Just like the fake squawking about Row v Wade abortion going back to the states and the absurd warning scenarios libs dreamed up as consequences. No back alley abortions & deaths, nobody going to jail over a miscarriage, no millions of girls/women having babies they wanted to abort. The truth is legal abortion numbers have increased since it became a state issue, an excellent outcome all around.
Libs stopped squawking about abortion, there are more than ever.

Re: Pew: 83% of Americans support voter ID

This is a solution in search of a problem.  Voter ID does not fix anything and only makes voting more difficult. There are astronomically low incidents of voter fraud.

All false.

Your hatred of America, and election integrity, is obvious. You are a vile, disgusting, hostile enemy.

How about this?

Make it easier to get the paperwork needed. For example, by having an agent do it on your behalf.

And then give people an allowance of $1,000 per election to cover costs which would include filing fees, agent fees, travel expenses, and time lost from work.

Deal?

Re: Pew: 83% of Americans support voter ID

Under the SAVE act: I show up to vote in a sombrero and a BLM t shirt with taco grease on it, some pork rinds stuck in my teeth, wearing a mask and sunglasses. I tell the lady in Spanish I forgot my ID and/or the dog ate it.

Do I get to vote? Si!
I just have to sign a pre-canned affidavit that I am a legal voter with my contact ID. Then I vote in line like everybody else shrug

Mike Johnson can't give an example where the SAVE Act would have stopped fraud:

Q: Can you give one example of fraud in a previous election that the SAVE America Act would stop?

MIKE JOHNSON: Look, we're not gonna litigate all that

You don't need ID to get a passport?

lol

The time required could be extensive. Time off of work, time to visit an attorney or other agent, time to get a phone, time to travel, gas money, etc.

Just give everyone $1,000 per election, or per year, in order to get the required information.

Certainly, you want people to vote, right? And you want secure elections, right? Seems $1,000 is a small price to pay.

Its as few bucks here and few bucks there. What about people that don't have a few bucks to spare. Do they no longer get to vote? What about old people stuck in homes, do they not get to vote now because they can't get down to DMV to get an ID?

There are millions of situations where an ID requirement is onerous and the bill has zero provisions to handle those situations.

Somebody has never gotten a passport. I have 8 & no team of lawyers or thousands of dollars needed.
But if you can’t handle the passport process just show up, they will let u vote anyway.
It won’t make an iota of difference & they will never have to check up on your sworn affidavit because the elections are never that close in blue states.

People can show up to vote with nothing, just like today. They will have to sign a form that states their info and that they are legally allowed to vote.

Just like the thing you sign today if you forget your ID in a state that already checks ID.

Let's run the numbers:

- 1 hour help from an attorney or other agent, $250 (minimum)
- 2 hours locating paperwork, doing research, requesting information, $50
- 4 hours off work to go get a passport or DL (driving, waiting, etc.), $100
- 4 hours daycare, $100
- Paperwork fees, government fees, etc., $200

That's $700 right there. Probably missed something.

So we should base the law on your exact, specific circumstances, experiences, knowledge, and life situation?

facepalm

But your vote won't be counted if you don't eventually prove your information.

Which could cost a lot of money and time.

Why don't you want to secure our elections by giving people $1,000 per election cycle to get their paperwork in order?
