Any normal person would look back and be able to recognize that such outcomes are never one-way, that it takes two to tango, and would be able to iterate several items they could have done differently that might have led to a different outcome. They also would be emotionally mature enough to give grace to their former partner knowing that while their ex may have had many flaws that they themselves also had many flaws and understand that their ex-partner was just as wrong-headed as they themselves were. The healthy person would also know that whatever insights they have now about themselves in the past does not mean that they currently are "fixed" but only that they don't know now what they don't know just as they didn't know then what they didn't know; they would know that blind spots into one's own psyche always exist.

Given such insight and experience, the healthy person would never post a thread like this because they would never think that such a trivial disagreement matters at all 30 years later. In fact, they probably would have forgotten that such trivial things even happened.

But here he is, 30 years later, and still as enraged about it as the day it happened. Still enraged about a few dollars. Still enraged at the mother of his children. Still thankful for "financially ruining" her as he has claimed. Still seeking revenge. Still griding an ancient axe.

It is these threads that Tom posts that inadvertently reveal just how damaged a human being he truly is.
