The CI code is some of the worst I have ever written.

I had a choice to make: rebuild from scratch or try to integrate my changes, to the best of my ability, into the existing code base. I went with the latter and that certainly involved trade-offs. That said, I have done refactoring where it makes sense and wasn't too much of a lift.

This thread was a parody of one that existed last night.  It might not make sense anymore.

I think the board is as well written as it needs to be and I have not inspected the code in any case.  I am biased against PHP but it works fine for applications like forum software.  I appreciate Spanky running the board and I am going to make another donation within the next 30 days.  I hope others join me.

Life, age, experience, noticing cause and effect.

Typical stuff that happens to almost everyone.

My code today is not better than it was 20 years ago. I was a revolutionary coder at one point. Now I just repeat well-known patterns. I write competent code now. Nothing special. But I don't even write much code now-a-days.
