Let me translate this from Washington to English: we are bombing one oil producer while helping another oil producer sell to a third country that we need as an ally. The geopolitical version of punching your left hand while shaking it with your right.

India gets cheap Russian crude. Russia keeps revenue flowing. The US gets to pretend sanctions are working while making sure the global oil market does not completely collapse. Everyone wins except the people in Iran getting bombed and the Americans paying 5 dollars a gallon.

This is not hypocrisy. This is just how great power politics works. You need India more than you need moral consistency.

You should write for the NYT.  You have an IQ that exceeds their jewwriters.
