The fast-food industry is facing a MAJOR reckoning

Mediocre chains (BK, Arbys, Sonic, KFC etc) will likely close thousands of locations in 3-5 yrs - here's why:

-Middle/lower class are tapped out
-Rising labor + food costs
-Stale food
-Dirty stores / bad service
-Ozempic
-African americans and other migrants

Wendy's is facing stiffer, better competition in recent years. They really haven't changed their model in over 50 years other than ruining their french fries.

Same with McDonalds. It's the same old stuff you've eaten since you were a kid. Don't get me wrong, I love a quarter pounder with cheese. It's just that there are way more options out there than this.

They've changed their model alright. In six years they doubled the prices. McDonalds is also getting read of the self serve fountain stations and then refusing refills. And drinks are now $3.

Drinks? More of a Florida issue. Oberthur runs some of the central Florida McD's. You see the lack of drink refills there.
