1.6B barrels isn't as much as it seems. Global oil consumption is estimated to be about 37.5B a year.

Re: Remember the "Peak Oil" hysterics from a few years ago?

Oil E&Ps are drilling longer laterals (three miles is routine now) in deeper and deeper strata.  The downside is that the deeper the well, the lower the molecular weight of the oil and the water it’s contaminated with.

Low MW oil from frack wells is good for gasoline or naphtha, etc. but useless for trying to refine into diesel or jet fuel, thus the need for heavy WesternCanada Select or Venezuelan oil.

Natural gas is produced via a geological process, i.e. it replenishes.

OMG!!!   My 6th grade teacher (In San Francisco, but I didn't get it at the time) warned us, with deadly seriousness, that the world would ABSOLUTELY run out of ALL oil before we graduated high school (1972).

That hysterical horseshyt is nothing new.

The OP snowflake can cope by pressing Fake News as much as she likes, the fact is that nobody serious has talked about "peak oil" in 20 years.

I am sorry to break the news to you that you are old, that you consider things from two decades past as "a few years ago".  Take a deep breath.  Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative.

You've told this story so many times that I think you believe it. But every time you tell it you:

1) state that the teacher was from a different grade
2) state a different period of time for when the oil ran out

At one point you were telling the story and oil wasn't going to run out until the late 1980s.

As a result of this we know you are a liar.

Now Tom thinks Gavin Newsom was governor of California in 2010.

You must think that Titan, one of Saturn's moons, had space dinosaurs that created all the methane that exists there?

Care to elaborate, dim wit?
