"Fat Mama" Cass was an obese pig, but at only around 285 at her heaviest, would look thin in a WalMart today.
Obviously a woman is disgustingly fat if she's more than 140lbs or so, depending on height, but Cass would not have looked all that huge by today's standards. Go to any Costco and she would be just a little above average.
Similarly, the fat kid from my elementary school would be pretty normal in 2025. She was quite fat, but not grossly obese.
Cass apparently did a lot of yo-yo'ing between weights so, like all fatties, she lacked self-control and discipline. There is never any excuse to be fat. But she might have benefited from something like modern Intermittent Fasting, since she would go for days without eating anyway.
