PG&E outages in S.F. leave 130,000 without electricity, no timeline for return of power

I remember when I lived there in the early 90s. That's when they were going to ban lighter fluid.

No problem though. I bought one of those chimneys where you put crumpled up newspaper in the bottom and fill it full of charcoal. Works a lot better.

Replying to myself here, I had to look it up:

Yes, California has banned the sale of most new gas-powered small off-road engines (SOREs), like those in lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws, starting in 2024, pushing for zero-emission alternatives, but it's not a ban on using your existing gas equipment, which you can still operate legally. This regulatory shift under Assembly Bill 1346 aims to cut pollution, affecting future purchases but allowing current owners to keep using their machines, though incentives for electric options exist.

What's Affected:

New Sales: Prohibited for models from 2024 onward.
Equipment Types: Lawnmowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws (45cc & smaller), portable generators, pressure washers, and backpack sprayers.

What's Exempt/Different:

Existing Equipment: You can still use the gas-powered equipment you already own.
Preempted Equipment: Some larger agricultural and construction equipment aren't covered.

Two-Stroke Engines: Older marine two-stroke engines aren't banned from use, but new high-emission ones are restricted

Replying to myself once again,

So to get around this,if you need a new lawn mower, the next time you're in Arizona or Nevada pick up a new one there and bring it back home. It's just a ban on sales of new engines.

They have agriculture inspection stations at the state border.   THEY have the right to illegally search for prohibited fruits.   Conveniently, they often have a Highway Patrol Officer standing right there, looking for firearms not on the "California Approved" list or anything banned by the King!   He asks A LOT of questions!

Someone here is still drinking - or drugging - and absolutely obsessing about me.   We used to have asylums for those people.  They should not have anything heavy or sharp.

I haven't been stopped or asked questions at a California border station since I first moved there in 1986. I also moved out of the state and returned many times to visit friends.

I think he's projecting. Those faggots want to make it seem like so many other people are just like them.

As a dot, you may be telling the truth.   A friend of mine who goes back and forth says differently.

OR, you may just be a DU DOT DUNCE, parroting whatever nonsense you're ordered to.

The Newsome Presidential Campaign won't be able to fuel campaign buses out of California.

I know it's sometimes difficult to follow dot posting but I was the one suggesting to buy lawn mowers from out of state to get around Newsom's fuqed up laws. Stating I hadn't been stopped since 1986 would go along with my sentiment that Newsom's laws are crap and easily avoidable. Hardly a DU DOT DUNCE.

I guess when someone has a differing opinion than you then you can always play that card but you do so without realizing it doesn't make sense sometimes as in this case.

Yes, you can buy a new gas-powered lawn mower out-of-state and bring it to California for personal use because the state's ban (AB 1346) targets the
sale and manufacture of new gas equipment in California, not personal import or use of existing equipment.

That sounds right, until you consider that all police in CA have their political background also checked nowadays.   San Francisco is notorious, with some secret "approval" committee.
