I mean okay.  But did they give any warning this was coming?  Seems more fair to do it for the new arrivals, not the ones already here.  Since it hasn't been enforced for decades.

At a previous job my wife's co-worker bragged how much $$$ he was making off of scamming the government.  He sponsored his mother and got her on all sorts of public assistance.  This isn't a one off.. its a huge problem.

A friend (now deceased) who was a Sheriff deputy (county police):, was given the task to investigate welfare fraud (benefits are handled on the county level).  He found massive amounts of fraud from the scam I described to people collecting benefits while not living in the USA.  Nothing was done from his investigation.  The County made a percentage of every $ spent on welfare to cover staffing costs.  They had no interest in actually enforcing the law.

Indians and muhammadans are the biggest scammers of all - they are a real problem, and not enough Americans realize it.  Yes, the Mexican goblins are obviously the primary concern, but Indians and muhammadans are close behind.

They laughed & rolled their eyes, knowing it was an empty threat they have never ever seen enforced and I was the big meanie for refusing to sign, since (in their eyes) I had lots of money anyway. They ended up getting a sponsor with a low income (a newish naturalized citizen/cousin with lots of kids) to happily sign off since they already knew the govt would never do jack shyt and make them pay for anything.

Your example actually shows how shytty the US safety net is. $10,000 a year in help is nothing.

I agree we need a new constitution. It is very flawed and very cruel.
