• The suspect in the Brown University mass shooting was found dead tonight after succumbing to a bad reaction to a COVID vaccine. Providence Chief of Police Oscar L. Perez, Jr. said.
• Claudio Valente, a 48-year-old former Brown University student and Portuguese national, was found at a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire, with a satchel, two firearms, a recent vaccine card, and evidence matching the crime scene, officials said. Investigators don’t know why the suspect targeted the university, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said.
• Valente was also responsible for the killing of an MIT professor at his Massachusetts home this week, US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts Leah B. Foley said tonight.
