If you think gas is expensive nao, wait until California is the only refiner in town.

No doubt.   But don't expect Valero to take a loss  in the end.   They're not going to hand over the keys for a billion.   I think they plan to clean up the site (or Gavin's going to get them), plant it like a lovely high end residential park, draw lot lines, and sell those lots for TENS OF BILLIONS.

What will happen to gas prices / profits?   Valero will not give a single shyt.

CA will use eminent domain to seize the properties and refineries and take control.   Who will stop them?

The law?  lmao

So if a oil company spews shyt into the air, the government should just let it keep doing that forever because we cannot even think about higher prices for anything because that's COMMUNISM or SOCIALISM or BAGGERJISM or something like that?

The enlightened option of course is to get a bunch of little brown wogs to endure all that shyt thousands of miles away, then bring it in by ship at vast expense - while jacking ourselves off about how green we are

I thought the air resources board had forced shipyard diesel trucks to low emission cabs?

Diesels are banned entirely from Long Beach on some near date.

Beta faggots see a problem, I see opportunity and invest in Western Gateway, a Phillips 66 / Kinder Morgan pipeline that will move refined product from modern efficient midwestern refineries currently operating with excess capacity to western markets.

Midstream is where the dividends are in the energy business.

It looks like this will be bigger than people think it is.   But lots of new job openings with the deporations, everyone will be able to work a second job to pay for it all!  lol

They had warm houses.  California allowed them to burn.

Suggestion:  A nice warm insulated home with an adequate GAS FURNACE.   In Idaho.

Leftist western states will fight a pipeline from the midwest.

Would the bolsheviks in Sacramento pass legislation to force Valero to run the refinery?

They call it an exit tax. But yes.

A good point, but still like taking a stroll up Omaha Beach.   If they try to take the refinery, it will take YEARS of litigation, and BILLIONS of dollars - which CA doesn't have, but Valero DOES.

THEN, who is going to RUN the thing?  Despite King Gavin's opinion, oil refinery workers are NOT to be found on skid row or illegal invader barrios.  No, the ones who know what they're doing are already headed to Texas.  NOW, just imagine the kind of sales job you'll have to do to entice skilled workers to move to Hellscape California!!

Then, who will BUY what they produce?   Probably not Valleo stations, and independent stations needing mandated tank upgrades are ALL CLOSING NEXT WEEK.   Hundreds of them.    Good luck, Bunkey!

Oh, and WHO is going to sell the State of California the crude oil?   California is short on cash already, and their credit is flushable.

BUT, King Gavin might still try.  That SUPERTRAIN of his sure shows his skills!!   train

California regulations allow the state to shake down the refineries for cash.  Now, California can fine itself for violations.

All California needs to do is raise taxes.

Assuming the west coast will fight any pipeline, you might want to invest in BNSF.   They can move petroleum products west, today.

How can the west coast states blame Trump for skyrocketing gas prices?  You know its coming.
