We like the look of that wall and did not wish to disturb it. Plus that wallpaper was expensive.

Samples_BoiVery nice. I am still using a cheap 720p TV from 2012.
HOW CAN YOU LIVE LIKE THAT?????

The wallpaper looks dingy tbh and not mounting it and having it on cheap TV stand looks very dated. Also you seem to have in wall speakers on that wall which look worse (and will sound worse) above the TV than having the TV professionally mounted.

Nobody buys an expensive TV with an eye to "resale value". For most people, 5-10 years later they have a hard time giving it away.

No, dullard. I meant the in-wall speakers that are installed way too high (taking the focus off the TV), and the dingy wallpaper.

Yeah, the wall is highly opinionated. It won't appeal to most people. The best you can hope is that others don't find it a non-starter.

SpankySo, this TV does have a problem with black crush in HDR when the room lights are on.
This will have to be addressed.

why did you install the speakers above the TV? what brand are they?

The speakers were installed shortly after I built the house in 2005.
They are Definitive Technology Ultimate In-Wall bi-polar speakers.
This is not the theater. The theater is upstairs and has a more advanced setup. This is the everyday TV viewing room. It is not for critical viewing / listening.

Upstairs I have B&W 603s for the fronts. A B&W center. Def Tech sub. Rears are Def Tech UIWs. Ceiling (Atmos objects) are 6-1/4” Def Techs. TV is 82” on the wall sitting 8’ in front of a row of four theater seats.
