Another indication you're dealing with a midwit: They stack synonyms.

Another thing I've noticed midwits do is use redundant, synonymous descriptors.  For example, they will describe something as both "archaic" and "old-fashioned."

The common midwit has many tells, but one must possess a superior IQ to notice them.

Would using "redundant" and "synonymous" in the same sentence be an example of midwit behavior?

Not necessarily.  For example; in the sentence, "Sarah returned back home," "returned" is a verb while "back" is an adverb and unnecessary (redundant).  That is a different expression of midwitiscism than, "Sarah is a stupid, idiotic person," where "stupid" and "idiotic" are two synonymous adjectives.

But you're right - it would have been more clear if I had written "or."

Got it, midwit.

Sometimes stacking synonyms can be done for effect as in "gay fag". It illustrates that the person being talked about is even gayer than most.

While it may not be grammatically correct, the effect it has in common discourse is effective.

Oh, I support it when it's intentional - especially when done for comedic effect (as in your example).

You are dealing with a person who would say that e e cummings shows a poor grasp of the English language.

since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don’t cry
—the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids’ flutter which says

we are for each other: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life’s not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

Here he is, in another one of my threads, mounting his trusty steed GPT to do battle! lol

As I said in my reply to the dot, I support it when done for effect.

It's a well-known poem. It was covered in junior college English. Perhaps why you haven't encountered it before.

Yes. That was the point. I learned about it in junior college. You must have gone someplace inferior if you thought it so sophisticated that it required a GPT lookup.

Firstly, I graduated from a top-ten university and did so cum laude.  My alma mater would have never considered you (for a myriad of reasons).

Secondly, I didn't say you used GPT to find the poem lol

Finally, refresh my memory - did you graduate from junior college?

There is no evidence of this. You've provided neither hard proof nor demonstrated that you have such an education.

You mean like “Spankie is a gay fag”?

To be precise, Spankie failed out of a third tier community college

Notice how the morbidly obese uneducated cocksmoker Spankie refuses to answer the part about graduating..

Anyone posting here has seen spanky's tired trope of pretending to be an intellectual.  He's not fooling anyone, especially himself.

He is uneducated and not very bright.  Obviously he taught himself some coding, but even then not very well.

Just enough coding to land a $45k per year IT support desk monkey gig

Again, you think me a fool?  Why would I provide you with any PI?  Do you think I care about what you think of me?  That's the only reason I'd ever fall for this painfully conspicuous ploy.

As for a "demonstration," I believe it was you - before you realized who I was, of course - who complemented my vocabulary and considered me an intelligent poster who should "stick around."

Remember that?

I complimented your vocabulary, yes. I thought you made an astute point once, yes.

So?

That doesn't mean you have a "top 10" degree.
