Yes, brainiac, Genesis borrows heavily from the Greek mythology which preceded it.

Is there any evidence at all that the murder of the first born sons in exodus is really a supernatural event and not some assholes killing all the babies themselves?  WHy the lamb's blood?

The nephilim they are called. If you take Genesis, erm, literally, they would have been wiped out by the great flood of Noah.

The story of Lillith comes from either the 9th or 10th century.

The OT god requires blood sacrifice quite often. Do you recall the story of Abraham being told to sacrifice his own son?

Who wants to tell the same story twice? But, they do, over and over. The bible as a work of literature is worth reading.

I view the Bible as a weapon that can be used to con people into believing almost anything. You can make a myriad of different arguments using it.

I don't believe in God. I don't understand how people who have extensively studied it could.

Not really the stories of the world so much as a small part of it. 3/4ths of the Bible is the Old Testament. It mainly centers around the domination of a small group over their neighbors and subsequent enslavement by them for "pissing off God."
