Nov 2000 was probably my last visit to CompUSA. I was either buying an accessory for my Palm Vx or a Linksys router.

PelvicOarfishnovember 2000 i was 20 and i walked into a CompUSA and a guy in a polo shirt sold me a three year service plan on a $39 mouse pad. i kept the warranty card in a drawer until 2014 in case the mouse pad ever "failed". it never failed. it was a mouse pad. i just wanted somebody to tell me it was covered.
nobody mentions the smell on these videos. new carpet, forty warm CRTs, and a wall of eMachines all running the same pipes screensaver. that was the last time i walked into a building and felt like something might happen to me. then i bought a zip drive and something did happen to me, it was the click of death, 100mb at a time.
360p is generous honestly. my memory of that place is 144p and the aisle with the blank CD-Rs is the only part that's in color.

I think I threw away a spool of almost 50 blank DVDs the last time I moved, possibly purchased at CompUSA.
