One of my sons tested positive for Covid. It's still here.
He has mild flu like symptoms but he has tested positive. He's generally kept up with vaccinations but this is a retro virus and thus is subject to rapid evolution.
I got my flu shot on Sunday, but am still waiting to get a covid update. I don't like doing more than one at a time.

My BFF had multiple myeloma and was in Rehab. Where he caught Covid and died of pneumonia. It pains me to look at his FB photo; banner proclaims “I got my Covid shot.”

Walgreens lets you get up to 4 vaccines (out of 6 choices) at once, but I'm good on all the others. I've never had any problem with getting Covid and flu shots together.

I use an N95 most places (and keep up with vaccinations).

Though I'll occasionally eat out. Vaccinations provide maybe limited immunity from catching it, but reduce symptoms.
Covid enters cells through the ACE2 receptor, which is active in nearly every organ. Lungs, digestive system, brain... I'd like to keep my brain from falling apart (further).
Good luck to your son. Even if I was young, I'd try to get Paxlovid. Can reduce incidence of Long Covid.

Every time I get covid it hits the AOII gene in my liver and my blood sugar spikes for days or weeks.
Covid is real and effects people's health.
