Now, you already know know I'm a charitable guy, from a charitable family and likewise friends.

In school, times were tough for independent boarding schools.   With technology dawning, the school let us students turn an old squash court into a TV studio.   It was laughable compared to today.   We had a couple of old B&W surveillance cameras and a VTR ( video TAPE recorder) Cassettes had yet to be invented.    That was all the school could afford.

Low and behold, one of the parents decided to buy and donate to the school a professional (B&W) camera!!!!   Japanese, it passed through the USA, where the donor parent lived.  It cost them $3,000!!!!

One of the teachers went to Victoria to pick the gift up, to find it had been seized by Canada Customs, pending CASH PAYMENT of $1,500.   Otherwise, it would be destroyed.   It went through the USA, so the 50% tariff had to be paid.   

Fortunately, the donor parent came up with the cash, but that was the LAST donation they ever made.

Now, you can say the USA started it for refusing to keep this system going.   I will base my opinion about your intelligence on what I see.
