It's mostly just political bullshyt at this point.  The GOP knows they can continue to fire up a certain percentage of you with it.  To be fair the Democrats often are too "trust the science" about these things themselves.  I was once the same way.

That sounds like the America you support.  Any sort of safety net or restriction on the corporations being able to screw over employees usually gets met with cries of "Socialism" by those on the right.  Or the SCOTUS outright rules it is "unconstitutional."
