Crab and lobster are great, but they were historically last resort peasant food and remain extremely abundant and easy to catch.
If you pay more than a couple of dollars for a crustacean you're being jewed.

Peasant food is beans and rice, and maize in the New World, and root vegetables. Which are not actually too bad with some chili powder and maybe some pork fat if you have it.
True peasants need to ask the local nobles to harvest any wild game and the answer is usually no.

These are King Crab legs and that is not the case with them. They are quite easy to got large gobs of meat out of which is why I prefer them.

I certainly prefer crab or king crab. Both taste better. King crab is just more of a pleasure to eat because it isn't as much work.
Stone crab claws are very nice too.
