.,Cursors is a VS Code fork which heavily integrates AI for writing code (kind of a super auto-complete). They're buying the user base.

This. Elon is purchasing the ability to make Grok the backbone of Cursor's AI. RIght now, I think Cursor relies on a Chink model.

Grok is dead. xAI decided a day before the IPO to lease its capacity to Google for $1 billion/month. Since when is an equipment leasing business worth $2.8 trillion?

Cursor would never be profitable on its own. All AI startups are unprofitable, including ChatGPT, Grok, & Anthropic.
So... 22 billion is a nice exit for Cursor's VCs & may give the workers a nice payout, depending on the cap table.

No AI business is woth their estimated market cap. NONE OF THEM. They all lose money & their circular finances are borderline illegal.
Google leased Elon's obsolete datacenter, with nice cancellation terms. Why?
- Gemini usage by Google's installed base
- Apple relying on Google cloud for <fill in the blank>OS27.
- Anthropic's growth
Elon has the only finished Datacenter & he's operating as a landlord.

They're leasing to both Google and Anthropic. No doubt they couldn't attract good talent to develop their AI as Musk doesn't exactly have the best reputation as a boss anyone wants to work for. I guess they transitioned into becoming a data rent-a-center.
