Last year, Florida real-estate developer Stewart Satter launched one of his most ambitious projects yet: a yet-to-be-built megamansion, on about 4 acres in Manalapan, listed for $285 million.
Now, at a moment when wealthy homeowners across the country are looking to assemble massive compounds, Satter is selling portions of the waterfront land to two neighbors for a combined $67 million.
WeatherTech founder and CEO David MacNeil, who owns a waterfront estate north of Satter’s property, has paid $32 million for part of the parcel, property records show. Oracle’s Larry Ellison, who owns a roughly 15-acre compound to the south, is set to pay $35 million for the other half in a deal that will close in a few weeks, according to people familiar with the deal.
“It’s always good to have a little extra space for my three Golden Retrievers to run,” MacNeil said in a text message.
