Andersen has this scam - I mean "offer" - where they will install new windows in your house (Several people, including myself and one son, get "preliminary estimates" of $70,000 and above.   This is a lot of money).   NO MONEY DOWN!!!!  NO INTEREST AND NO PAYMENTS FOR 2 YEARS!!!!!

The contract you sign is for 35% interest, but no problem, you'll pay off the balance within 2 years, right?   NO SWEAT!!!

Two years is coming up, and do you think the bank that now owns that paper is going  to  remind you of what's coming?   GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!

Two years comes up, and unless you have paid EVERY DOLLAR of your note, you are now charged TWO YEARS of back interest - that's a **70%** increase in what you owe - and it's time to start paying!

Of course, if you don't pay on time and as agreed - they can toss you out, sell your house with the nice windows, and walk away with the cash.

Unless you are EXTREMELY detailed with your money ---  NOT RECOMMENDED BY ME. 

That said, I HAVE used that "deal" to get 2 years of free interest on a roof, but you have to be an excellent money manager, like me.
