Why can't fags register here? Is Spanky a homophobe?

SockpuppetI can issue you a permission slip that will allow you to register a new moniker despite having a low trust score.
I need to be at my desk to do this. So later.

Do registered users who never post while not logged in, get a bump in their trust score for their actions as a reg? I just logged out and noticed that my trust score as a dot is very low even though I post here lots as a reg.

No. The two are not related.

By this answer do you mean that when I log out as a reg I lose all trust score earned as a reg?
If so, this means that prolific regs won't be able to log out and reg a new user.

Correct.
Thus, the invention of permission slips. It let's you register a moniker even if your trust score is low.
Would you like one?

No need, but it seems like a waste of your time and against the principal for you to have to issue a permission slip to a trusted reg.
The problem is, the registration link is not present for regs. So they have to log out, and then they have no trust.

Log out. Do not clear your cookies.
Then click this link in order to register a new moniker:

There isn't an easy way to do it. It is complicated by the fact that many (most?) regs have multiple historical unreg preference keys (the thing that drives trust score).

"multiple historical unreg preference keys"
What do you mean by that?

A registered moniker is consistent across devices.
A unreg trust score is maintained by a "preference key cookie." This is tied to a single device. So when a reg logs in from multiple devices they accumulate multiple unreg cookies. And if they add on things like VPNs or Incognito then they accumulate even more cookies. So which one do you give high trust to? If you want to grant it to all of them then that is a new tracking problem.
........................................................................
I mean, when a reg presses "log out", you could just overwrite the unreg key trust score with the trust score inside the reg cookie (or maybe theres no such thing as a reg trust score?)

There really is not a reg trust score per se. A reg is treated as having "max trust score" which is 100.
Also, trust score is not static. It is dynamic. So it isn't a stored value even for dots.

Correction: for some technical reasons we do store "last calculated trust score" for dots. But the value that is actually used is dynamically calculated on each request to do something that requires trust.

Can you create a maximum unreg score cookie, when a reg clicks the logout button? Presumably you can tie the unreg cookie to the reg to prevent abuse of this?

Samples_BoiAnyway, this is just mental masturbation because a reg can just send you a DM when they want to register a new moniker.

Yes. The permission slip is a lot easier. Thus why I created it.
