I had to (try and fail) to tell a girl with big dreams on becoming a model that it wasn’t going to happen, facts are facts, models need to be in a certain height range among other qualities and that was not possible given her genetic background and growth chart through childhood. That models are very rare and scouted, a lot of it was luck from birth, and not worth persuing. There are qualities of “models” she could study & aspire too (like good posture, dressing well, good hygiene & styling and pleasant personality) that could always help her in life as she pursued other practical things, like nursing school or something,

But oh no. She was starry-eyed & not long before being heavily recruited by modeling school where they wanted large sums of money from her dumb parents, lots of lip service about how height was only needed for runway work, that bad teeth & unfortunate nose can be assets of uniqueness; after they got her parents’ money then said she needed to pay for a portfolio $$$$ and a makeover $$$$ and stylist $$$$ while attending Saturday classes in some strip mall led by some scammer on how to walk properly

Then this homely teenager in fake modeling school decided she needed a sweet new car for her image.

Life was over & in debt before finishing high school, no possibility for nursing school or community college because she had to get a menial job to cover car payments & insurance. Not classically pretty, she then turned to gym bodybuilding & entering competitions to get her stage attentionwhoring out, bleeding $$$ into this bullshyt bodybuilding hobby that never worked out into stardom,

Fast forward = single mom 2 kids, dumb as a brick, parents impoverished, working a dead end menial job, not in shape. Last I heard from this poor child was a “Go Fund Me” so she could continue the dream of modeling/bodybuilding.

Still has a sweet car with $$$ payments.

She needed a Trump-figure (wasn’t me sadly) to get it through her thick head that all the modeling fees & school were a scam, she was never model material, real models get scouted for real & pay nothing, there is no face card and not to waste her time & parents money on this nonsense. Also, not academically smart so aim for a 2 year degree as nurse assistant or hairdresser or vet tech etc to fall back on,

They did much better in the 40s and 50s when they went to the colored school and were taught they could be a farm laborer or janitor.
