Example: Calling a landline in Australia:
- AT&T Cellphone: $4.00 / minute
- T-Mobile Cellphone: $3.00 / minute
- Google Voice: $0.01 / minute
https://www.att.com/international/long-distance/
https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/international-calling
https://voice.google.com/rates
Now that Skype is gone, I'm wondering if there are any other competitive services for calling international landlines.

Why can't you just use something like MS Teams?

That requires the paid business version of MS Teams
If your organization pays for a Microsoft 365 Business or Enterprise plan with Teams Phone, and your account is licensed and set up correctly, you can call US landlines directly from the Teams app.

I just found out that Skype still exists, but only as a web interface.
https://calling.web.skype.com
You can reactivate & use your existing Skype credit to make calls, but you can't add any more.

You're getting ripped off.

.,how much fuqing time do you even spend on the phone these days? I barely answer the phone. If you want something send a text/email. If it's more complicated and requires real discussion I set up a Teams of Google meet.

In the last few months, I had to take care of a lot of issues related to my elderly mom's health.
I probably made 100+ phone calls to hospitals, nursing homes, doctors, assisted living facilities, home care agencies, home health agencies, geriatric care managers, insurance companies, etc.

that's admittedly an edge case - so what's the problem with Google Voice?

No real problems.
I'm just looking for alternatives, just in case Google Voice gets cancelled too (like Skype got cancelled).
