That sounds perfectly fair to me.

I’m going to crack open a bottle of 18 year old single malt myself.

It should be:

- public holiday
- free beer
- sex in the park
- half-price buffets
- carnival rides for kiddies
- street celebrations

All normal people will celebrate. There may be spontaneous gatherings in the streets.

Were you born this retarded, or did you have to work on it?  You do realize that the Democratic Party of that era was way different than what it is now? 

Don't believe me?  Look at any election map between 1880 and 1960, except 1948 (we leave out 1948 because of Strom Thurmond's third-party run skewing the statistics).  Notice how all those Southern states are staunch Democratic strongholds?  Look at those same states now - all heavily Republican. 

Still don't believe me?  Try going to a KKK rally and accuse its members of being Democrats.  Or carry a Confederate flag to a Democratic rally today.  See what happens to you.

Moreover, the GOP back then was staunchly pro-civil rights. Almost all the civil rights legislation from the 1860s to the 1950s was from the Republican party.

Both parties underwent a significant ideology change in the late 1960s and 1970s. The GOP fully embraced Nixon's Southern Strategy which pitched appealing to southern racists and abandoning the party's traditional civil rights platform. Meanwhile dems began migrating to urban working class people and abandoning their traditional racist positions, almost entirely due to Kennedy and LBJ.

Modern Democrats are much more like the Republicans of the 1880s, while the Republican party today is more like a cult with batshyt insane lunatics running the show.
