Where are the people holding him accountable for creating his own security problem by tearing down the East Wing without any oversight whatsoever? It's been almost a year and it hasn't stopped him from sleeping there. If it were really such a seccurity threat, he can install some ICE goons with military grade munitions to guard the hole 24/7/365.

Having a large meeting space is important, but obviously there is much more going on in the underground parts related to safety/ security/ none of the public’s business.

The East Wing was not of historic value or good architecture: it was an outdated slapped together office space wing from the 1950s. Outdated, obsolete, nothing of value lost there.

Also, I do think the Triumphal Arch is silly, Trump has no intention on building it and certainly not before July 4

Currently for state dinners at the White House, each one involves $$$ millions for subcontractors to set up elaborate tents, outfit them with security, heating & a/c, and of course port-a-Potts that are always embarrassing/disgusting no matter how they try to disguise them as designer They are shythouses raised up on wheels, trailer park style.
Then millions to break down the whole carnival & drive it away, then restore the grounds from all the circus traffic.

Other countries have proper structure so their president can have large gatherings greeting guests to his home.
