It's for books about dildos and butt plugs.
They would have been free if I made them in my shop since I have materials to do it.
But my time has value. Also, I don't like the finishing process. I'd build a lot more stuff if I didn't have to go through the finishing process.

I hear you on finishing. A lot of these bespoke craftsmen do rustic finishes and distressed surfaces because it's harder to mess it up.

Yeah. That's a good strategy. Another is to design furniture wearing mating / meeting surfaces are incorporated into the design. Rather than trying to get to pieces perfectly mated and perfectly finished, maybe separate with dissimilar material or finish. Then it looks intentional as opposed to really just reducing labor. You'll never hide that joint totally otherwise. Or, at not me. My skill level has never progressed much. I am a mediocre woodworker. My entire life I have struggled to be proficient at tasks that require "feel" to get right.
